Ratri aims to uplift and publish South Asian poetry, fiction, and nonfiction work. We encourage and look forward to submissions from new and up-and-coming artists and established writers, poets, and artists!

Guidelines!
Ratri only accepts unpublished work. Therefore, if your work is published elsewhere, please email us to let us know. At the moment, we cannot offer fiscal compensation to artists or writers; however, we hope to be able to in the future.
At any point, if you no longer wish to have your work considered for publication and would like to withdraw your submission, feel free to send us an email.

Ratri looks forward to poetry submissions of any form, length, and style. Submissions should not exceed more than 4 poems.

Ratri fiction submissions must be under 5,500 words. Please submit one piece per submission cycle. With submissions under 1,000 words, you may send up to 3 pieces. Excerpts of longer pieces (within the word count) are encouraged but must be readable on their own.

Ratri encourages the submission of nonfiction, within 4,000 words, on the South Asian experience from memoir to personal essays, literary criticisms, and cultural criticisms (books, film, etc).

Ratri looks for visual art from any media, including photography, illustration, printmaking, paintings, comics, drawings, and mixed media work. Submissions should be at most 5 pieces with an accompanying artist’s statement (200 words) describing the piece and your inspiration. Visual arts submissions should be scanned in PDF format.
